Continuing our support to South American partners

/

Cyber4Dev experts deliver wide-ranging virtual training alongside partners in Ecuador and Paraguay.

This month our experts have continued their ongoing work with partner countries in the South American region, supporting regional efforts to reduce the impact of cyber attacks through proactive and innovative approaches to cyber resilience.

In collaboration with colleagues in Ecuador, Cyber4Dev Lead expert Martin Indrek-Miller and Estonian expert Tönu Tammer earlier this month presented on the importance of Data Protection in the context of eCommerce sites. In the context of the global pandemic, this is an area of particular concern, with an exponential rise in cyber attacks across eCommerce platforms over the past twelve months.

In collaboration with OAS in Paraguay, experts Sille Laks and Sylvia Beamish presented on the ever evolving subject of Crisis Communications in Cyber. Sille presented some of the standout crisis communications examples she has come across in her career as a cyber expert, and provided the audience of over 130 online attendees with practical advice on how to address situations from both a technical and communications perspective. In response to the case studies Sille provided, Sylvia Beamish gave her insights in to ways of creating and deploying a comprehensive Communications plan which enables better risk management and reduces reputational damage.

Thank you to our partners in the region for inviting us to participate and we look forward to continuing to work collaborative in the region to build cyber resilience.
