Yesterday in Quito, Ecuador we were pleased to witness and participate in the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between Ecuador and the EU. Ecuadorian Minister for Telecommunications Viana Maino and Ambassador of the EU to Ecuador Charles-Michel Geurts led the signing, with a pledge to continue co-operation in this ever increasing area of international importance.

Cyber4Dev has been working with colleagues in Ecuador (particularly Mintel) for the past two years and we are delighted to see that our engagement has been supportive and instrumental in developing relationships across continents.

Cyber4Dev Country Co-ordinator and Partner leader for RIA – Merili Soosalu commented –

‘We are happy to formalise our co-operation with Ecuador through Mintel after two years of working. We are now ready to set up together a working plan to meaningfully assist Ecuador in building cyber security’.
