Secure Data Exchange in The Dominican Republic

/

Creating secure connections that facilitate the flow of information amongst networks has never been more important; and building the scaffolding and frameworks that allow these connections is ever more complex and susceptible to compromise.

It was within this context that our expert Martin Indrek Miller delivered a wide-ranging training exercise alongside fellow esteemed Estonian experts Taavi Meinberg and Riho Kerge in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic this week.

Martin comments –

‘This week we have been helping Dominican Republic Government Office of Information and Communication Technology Oficina Gubernamental de Tecnologías de la Información y Comunicación (OPTIC) to promote the use of Secure Data Exchange in the public sector. It was wonderful to learn during the 3 day workshop how passionately Mr. Armando J. Manzueta Peña and his team in #OGTIC is piloting the Secure Data Exchange platform X-road in Dominican Republic and how far they have managed to advance over the past year and half, since they started.

Many thanks to my colleagues Riho Kerge and Taavi Meinberg who shared their knowledge and gave in-depth overview of how Estonian implementation of X-road operates. Many thanks also to Carlos Vargas from #RoksnetLatam, who shared his experience on implementing X-road in different Latin American countries.

We were also invited to the Consejo Nacional de Competitividad National Council of Competitiveness by the Executive Director Peter A. Prazmowski, to explain how Secure Data Exchange could lead to more efficient and user friendly government services.’
