Awareness Campaigns built with citizens at their heart are the focus in Mauritius

Building cyber awareness and resilience amongst some of our most vulnerable groups is a cornerstone of the work that we do.

Over the past four years, our Communications Expert Sylvia Beamish has worked to develop wide ranging and impactful strategies and campaigns with our colleagues in partner countries, and this week she has been back in Mauritius to support the Ministry of Gender and Ministry of Youth Empowerment, Sports and Recreation in their efforts to address the important issues of cyber bullying, and online Gender based Violence (GBV).

As a Cyber4Dev hub country, The Republic of Mauritius has already taken a lead in developing innovative and citizen led campaigns which seek to empower women and young people to take control of their online life. We’re pleased to have supported them to further develop their ‘Safer Internet Day’ activities as well as their ‘Cyberbullying- Pas Avek Nu’ campaign.
