Cyber4Dev has just returned from a successful scoping mission to Dominican Republic and Costa Rica where team members explored the possibilities for expanding project operations to the Latin American and Caribbean region.

The team were warmly welcomed by the key cyber security stakeholders and government representatives of each country and excellent discussions took place around the national cyber security strategies and how Cyber4Dev could potentially support the achievement of their national goals.

In the Dominican Republic, the team visited the National Cyber Security Centre, CSIRT-RD, the Dominican Institute of Telecommunications and the Technological Institute of the Americas to present the project and learn about the cyber security related work being undertaken there.
In Costa Rica project experts met with cybersecurity actors in the telecommunications and finance sectors, the Ministry of Planning, and had meetings at with Ministry of Science, Technology and Telecommunications (MICITT) which included CSIRT-CR. Here they were welcomed by MICITT Minister Mr Luis Adrián Salazar Solís, (pictured, centre) who outlined his vision for the digitisation and development of cyber security of Costa Rica and pledged his support for Cyber4Dev.
