In April this year, we were delighted to announce the Republic of Mauritius as the Cyber4Dev hub for Africa. As part of this designation and in co-operation with the Ministry of Information, Communications & Innovation and MU-CERT, it was agreed that a number of wide ranging activities would take place to enable the development of cyber awareness, including public awareness campaigns spanning across society.
Last week, our team and our partners in country took the first steps to developing these plans, through a visit and scoping exercise in CyberCity to establish current knowledge and understanding, as well as to plot the way forward.
Our experts Sylvia Beamish and Ewan Smith were delighted to have the opportunity to meet with the Permanent Secretary and Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Information Technology, Communication and Innovation in Mauritius (Miss Marie Joelle Sandrine Valere and Mrs Nazia Begum Ally Hossen) to discuss plans for a wide ranging public awareness campaign, working alongside our long-time colleagues at MU-CERT.
Thank you to our hosts for your hospitality and we look forward to working collaboratively with you in the very near future.
