Cyber4Dev Estonian experts support 9/12 Challenge

/

Earlier this week, we were delighted that our guest experts Raul Rikk, Lauri Luht and Liina Lumiste took part in the African region segment of the 9/12 Strategy Challenge.

The challenge, which will be completed at the end of this month, is a global initiative which pits university teams against each other with the aim of developing the skills of next generation policy makers. It is a unique competition designed to provide students from a range of academic disciplines a deeper understanding of the policy challenges associated with an escalating cyber incident and potential cyber conflict. Part-interactive learning experience and part-competitive scenario exercise, it challenges teams to respond to a realistic, evolving, multinational cyber security incident. Competitors must analyse the threats posed to national, international, and private sector interests, according to The Atlantic Council.

Partnering with C3SA at the University of Cape Town, South Africa, our experts delivered pre -challenge presentation training to over 30 teams from across Africa and beyond, on the key subjects of the Cyber threat landscape, the Cyber ecosystem and the emerging topic of Cyber Law.

The insights that were shared by our experts will help to inform and shape teams responses to the scenario based exercises that will be posed to them in late September.

Thank you to our experts, our partners and participants. Good luck!
