Discussing the Human Centred approach to Cyber Security at the United Nations in NYC

/

Co-operation and collaboration on important issues remains a consistent and robust theme of our work, and yesterday’s lunchtime workshop on the Human-Centric Approach to Cybersecurity in the Context of the OEWG was a great example of this.

Joining forces with EU Cyber Direct – EU Cyber Diplomacy Initiative and in the presence of our sponsored EU:CD fellows and a range of international stakeholders, we hosted the workshop on the fringe of the of the OEWG on responsible state behaviour in cyberspace, taking place at United Nations Headquarters in New York City.

The topic of a human centric approach to cybersecurity is one which rightly attracts much discussion and debate, and so we were delighted to be able to hear Allison Pytlak from the The Stimson Center guide the participants through the evolution of the concept and the discussions at the OEWG.

Following Allison’s overview, we were delighted to be joined by our esteemed colleague and expert Anriette Esterhuysen, who facilitated an interactive session covering the many facets of the Human Centric Approach.

Thank you to everyone who attended yesterday. It was great to have the opportunity to discuss these issues in a dynamic, open and safe manner with you all. In particular, thank you to the Delegation of the EU to the United Nations in NY for hosting us.
