Over the past two years, we have been working with partners in Botswana on ways that young people can protect themselves in the digital world.
🕙 Back in 2020, our experts began the conversation with colleagues in Botswana about the idea of improving cyber awareness among young people in and around the country.
From these initial conversations, the idea of CyberSmartBW Champions evolved.
💻 Over the past few days, we have been so delighted be able to travel to Nata in the Central District of Botswana to work alongside local organisation eBotho Cyberspace in delivering a series of cyber awareness sessions to young people in the village.
With the support of local commissioners, librarians and district elders, we worked with the young people of the village to help them understand cyber risks and to develop their own campaigns.
🔷The CyberSmart BW campaign was designed with the idea of building a network of Cyber Champions across Botswana and we are so pleased that one of our original CyberSmartBW winners, Winnie Motsemeng, is now a part of the team, as a Cyber Champion
