This week, we’ve been in Zambia, participating in the Forum on Internet Freedom in Africa (FIFA).
Our Communications expert Sylvia Beamish, along with David Moepeng from InFuture Foundation, presented a workshop on Tackling Cyber Poverty through Cyber awareness campaigns.
The aim of the workshop was to inspire and encourage people to take action on cyber safety, with the presenters giving examples of ways to identify and promote key messages that they can share throughout their communities.
The annual Forum on Internet Freedom in Africa (FIFAfrica) is a landmark event hosted by the Collaboration on International ICT Policy for East and Southern Africa (CIPESA).
The Forum convenes a spectrum of stakeholders from across the internet governance and digital rights arenas in Africa and beyond to deliberate on gaps, concerns and opportunities for advancing privacy, free expression, inclusion, the free flow of information, civic participation and innovation online.
